Day One of the Omeriye Foundation and Time to Help Belgium's medical camp was nothing short of amazing. As we arrived at Semikaro dispensary in Tana River County, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming traditional songs of the villagers. It was a beautiful start to an incredible day.
After the warm welcome, our team headed to a tent where we received a briefing from the area chief. The briefing was informative and helped us understand the needs of the community. Our doctors then headed to their respective stations, and the camp began.
The medical team spent a whole day examining and treating the villagers for various ailments, from eye problems to gynecological issues.
Our team of doctors was well equipped with medicine provided by the Omeriye Foundation and Time to Help Belgium, and thousands of people received treatment on this first day alone.
In addition to providing medical treatment, the Omeriye Foundation donated lunch to the patients. It was heartwarming to see the patients' faces light up as they received not just medical attention, but also a warm meal.
For the more critical cases, the medical team referred the patients to the Afya International Hospital in Malindi, where our team carried out surgeries and offered specialized care.
.
As we concluded the first day of the medical camp, it was clear that the team of doctors were on a mission to make a difference in the lives of the people they served. The first day was a great success, and we were excited to see what the next three days had in store for us.
